The Missouri Glass Company was incorporated in 1856 and erected its first plant in the southern part of St. Louis for the manufacture of glass bottles and fruit jars. To this manufacture was grandually added a jobbing business till in 1870 jobbing was taken up entirely, with headquarters at Third and Vine streets.
